Maria Cecilia Berioli


She graduated with honors in Cello from the “F. Morlacchi” Conservatory of Perugia. She went on to specialize in Chamber Music with G.de Peyer and D.De Rosa (Trio di Trieste); in Cello with S. Palm (Rome, Lerici, Perugia, Bologna, Bern, Blonay-Vevey...) for the modern and contemporary repertoire and for the classical repertoire with D. Grosgurin (Virtuosité, Geneve); and, at length, with A. Bonucci, under whose guidance he brilliantly obtained the Diploma di Perfezionamento at the Accademia Musicale Pescarese, and, later, the Diploma di Perfezionamento in Cello with special prize at the Accademia Nazionale di S. Cecilia in Rome. Subsequently, she obtained a Level II Diploma, executive/interpretive address, at the Conservatory of Perugia, scoring 110/110 cum laude. In 1992 she was a scholarship holder at the “Hindemith Foundation” Blonay-Vevey (Suisse) , the only Italian, where she stayed for some time collaborating in the Foundation's cultural project in a selected European context. In 1997 he won first prize overall -Cello solo- at the AMA Calabria Competition in Lamezia Terme; In the same year he won the first prize overall, in duo V.cello-P.forte, at the “Ottocento Festival” Competition in Saludeci (RN). In 2006 she won the “Opera IMAIE 2006” award for the best CD of the year with the performance of F. Casavola's “Prisoners and Volcanoes” interludes, the result of an original cultural research that led to the discovery of the unpublished then recorded . She has been First Cello in several orchestras: Symphonia Perusina, Filarmonici Umbri, Il Gruppo di Roma, Orchestra Sinfonica di Perugia, Festival Sinfonietta, Orchestra Filarmonica dell'Umbria, I Solisti di Perugia. From 1995 to 2000 he collaborated regularly with the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI (Turin) both participating in the Orchestra's institutional activity (Concert Season at Lingotto/Auditorium and tours abroad) and as a member of the chamber ensemble developed within the same Orchestra. Since 1997, following an audition called for that role, she has been Cello Concertino at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna.
