Luca Ranieri

Graduated in violin, viola and singing with highest honors, He later specialized with Felix Ayo, Gervase de Peyer, Ulrich Koch, Elena Rizzieri. As a soloist he has performed in prestigious halls such as the Auditorium Nacional de Musica in Madrid, the Eremitage Theater in St. Petersburg, the Teatro Clementinum in Prague, the Auditorium del Foro Italico in Rome, and the Hamarikyu Asahi Hall in Tokyo. He has recorded for the labels Tactus, BMG, Bongiovanni, Quadrivium, Dinamic, and made live recordings for RAIuno, RAIdue, RAItre and Radiodue. He is president and founding member of UmbriAEnsemble. Since December 2014 he has been a violist and founding member of the “Viotti Quartet” with which he is engaged in recording for the record company “Brilliant Classics” the complete Quartets for Strings and for Flute and Strings by G.B. Viotti. Luca Ranieri's next recording project involves the complete recording of P. Hindemith's Sonatas for Viola Solo for the same label. He holds a chair in violin at the State Conservatory of Music in Perugia and is very active didactically with Masterclasses in Viola, Violin and Chamber Music in Italy, Europe and America.
