Frequently Asked Questions
How does the audition process for orchestra concerts work?
Each participant is given the opportunity to perform with the orchestra. Prior to arrival, applications are reviewed by the conductor and artistic director. If approved, the participant proceeds directly to the main performance. Otherwise, the student will participate in a ‘first play’ session to gain orchestral experience; upon successful completion, they will then advance to the regular performance.
What is included in the “Auditor” participation?
The Auditor category is designed for those who wish to experience the festival’s atmosphere without performing as an active student.
It includes access to all masterclasses, attendance at marathon and master recitals, evening orchestra concerts and participation in social events, also 2 meals per day in our associated restaurants.
How do I complete my Registration Payment?
Registration fees must be paid to secure your spot at the festival.
Proceed with the payment via bank transfer with the details listed on the registration page.
After completing, send us by email a copy of the bank transfer and we will confirm once we receive it.
Can I record video/audio of my concert?
It is possible to record your performances by yourself.
The festival provides a high quality video recording with a set of professional microphones and 3-4 videos cameras.
When applied to the festival, we will send a dedicated email with all the details.
When should I arrive in Perugia?
In each Music Fest Perugia session, an “arrival day” and a “departure day” are scheduled. These days are reserved for check-in and check-out procedures, as well as the welcome meeting and closing remarks. They are not full activity days, but are primarily intended for logistical arrangements and accommodation.
- First session:
Arrival day: July 23rd
Departure day: August 1st
Music events start from July 24th to July 31st
- Second session:
Arrival day: August 3rd

Music events start from August 4th to August 12th
Where are the festival hotels located?

How do I get to Perugia?
Perugia is well-connected and can be reached by several means
- By plane: The closest airport is Perugia San Francesco d’Assisi, but it is pretty small and limited. The best solution is Rome Fiumicino Airport.
- By train: Frequent services run from Rome (3/3h30 with changes) and Florence (2h30 with changes) operated by Trenitalia.
The central station is Perugia Fontivegge (Piazza Vittorio Veneto, 06124 Perugia PG)
How do I get to Perugia from Roma Fiumicino Airport?
The SULGA bus line offers a direct connection from Rome Fiumicino Airport to Piazza Partigiani in Perugia. To make your arrival easier, we have organized a private SULGA bus going directly from Fiumicino Airport (at Terminal 3) to the Sangallo Palace Hotel, where you can find the Music Fest Perugia desk office.
We strongly recommend this option because it goes straight to the registration hub, saving you a lot of time compared to public transport.
Our staff will meet you at the airport to escort you to the bus. Since this is a direct service, it is significantly faster than the public SULGA buses (09:00, 14:30, and 17:00), which make multiple stops.
- Departure: 13:00 (July 23rd for the 1st session / August 3rd for the 2nd session).
How can I practice?
The Festival provides practice facilities equipped with pianos at the Music Fest Perugia study locations. The festival Office schedules at least 10 hours of practice per session for each student. It is also possible to bring your own keyboard and practice in your hotel room, as long as it complies with the hotel’s hours and rules.
