Christiana Serafin de Ocampo was born in Manila.
She received a scholarship to attend the prestigious New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, where she received her B.M. under the tutelage of Edward Zambara.
She completed further advanced studies at the Salzburg Mozarteum (also under scholarship) and in Vienna.
Christiana who is a lirico spinto soprano includes in her repertoire the two Verdi Leonoras, Desdemona, Tosca and Madama Butterfly. Orchestral pieces such as the Verdi Requiem, Britten War Requiem, Strauss Four Last Songs, Wagner Wesendoncklieder, Mahler Rückert Lieder, Ravel Shéhèrazade, and Barber's Knoxville
Summer of 1915 belong to her Repertoire. Serafin de Ocampo is also well known for her Lieder interpretations, having collaborated with her mentor, Norman Shetler.
Serafin de Ocampo has performed in Opera-, Oratorio- und Concerts in the following cities: New York, Boston, Washington DC (Kennedy Center) Manila (Cultural Center Philippines), Madrid, Barcelona, Vicenza, Rome, Prague, Ljubljana, Hamburg, Zürich, Salzburg, Krakau, Lodz, Vienna, Thüringen, Jena, Perugia, Berlin and Paris.
Among her teachers was the legendary Magda Olivero.Serafin de Ocampo is not only renowned for gripping and moving performances. She is a highly respected vocal technique teacher able to efficiently correct vocal faults using her knowledge of anatomy and Bel Canto principles. Always expanding her understanding of anatomy, she is also a certified Bowen Technique Osteopath.
She recently founded the Serafin International Vocal Academy.
