Francesca Paola Geretto


Fascinated from a very young age by all aspects of the use of the voice, in parallel with the brilliant achievement of the Diploma in Lyrical Singing at the Conservatory of Music “ Arrigo Pedrollo” in Vicenza and the start of a career soloist, she devoted herself to the study of vocal propaedeutics, in courses organized by the “Quartet Society” of Vicenza, to music therapy by applying the Functional Singing method in some kindergartens, schools primary schools, and several music schools in the Triveneto as well as experience in day care centers for the disabled in collaboration with the ulss n.4 of Venice. He earned a master's degree at Cubec, Accademia di Belcanto italiano in Modena with Mirella Freni, thanks to a scholarship obtained by merit from the Veneto Region. From 2016 to 2018 she is Assistant Professor of Singing classes at the Conservatorio Jacopo Tomadini in Udine. From 2018 to the present, she collaborates permanently with the summer training courses of the International Festival “Music Fest Perugia,” an event conceived and promoted by renowned pianist Ilana Vered, holding masterclasses in opera singing for students from all over the world who intend to study Italian Belcanto, and curating the stage aspects of the operas produced by the Festival (2023 Nozze di Figaro; 2024 Rigoletto). In 2019 he is Lucina D'Intino's assistant at the summer master classes of the International Festival of Portogruaro (Ve). He founded and has been conducting since January 2009 the Ensemble Vocalia, an award-winning all-female ensemble from Sesto al Reghena (PN) and since summer 2018 the Gruppo Vocale Viriditas, a choir consisting only of young musicians under 30 passionate about choral singing at the Pordenone Cathedral; with both of them it has won numerous awards and awards including, just to mention the latest in chronological order, second and third place in their respective categories, and a special prize for the best interpretation of a piece by a contemporary composer at the 56th Vittorio Veneto National Choral Competition. In addition to his activity as a conductor, he has conceived and created the “Four Seasons Festival” for which he serves as Director Artistic Director for the tourist town of San Michele al Tagliamento-Bibione (Ve) which is now in its third edition. Since 2020 he has been a member of the faculty of the “Piergiorgio Righele” Academy of Choral Conducting curated by Prof. Matteo Valbusa, as Prof. of Singing and Vocality of Choir Directors and Master Vocalists who come from all over the country, in collaboration with ASAC Veneto (Association for the Development of Choral). He regularly holds masterclasses and courses in opera singing and vocality for artistic voice professionals and ensembles. He is currently teaching opera singing at the S. Cecilia Foundation School of Music in Portogruaro, metropolitan city of Venice. In May 2012, chosen by Mariella Devia, she played the role of Adina in L'elisir d'amore at the Teatro Concordia in Pordenone. In 2013 she won the competition for L.T.L. Opera Studio roles, debuting in the role of Maria Rosaria in Napoli milionaria by Nino Rota at the theaters of Lucca, Livorno and Pisa. In September 2013 she made her debut at the Teatro Sociale di Trento in the role of Berta in Il barbiere di Siviglia. In January 2014 at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa she debuted the roles of: Countess in Le nozze di Figaro, Adina in L'elisir d'amore (in the historic edition by Crivelli and Luzzati), Micaela in Carmen and finally Berta in Il barbiere di Seville. In April 2016 she was the Second Elf in Respighi's La Campana Sommersa at the Teatro di Cagliari, directed by Francesco Maestrini and directed by Donato Renzetti. In December 2017 at the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona she made her debut as Praskowia in La vedova allegra directed by Sergio Alapont under the direction of Gino Landi. She was, for the season opening of the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari 2018, Suor Zelatrice in Suor Angelica under the direction by D. Renzetti and directed by D.Krief. In April 2018, she returned to the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona to perform Marcellina in Le nozze di Figaro (edition complete) by W. A. Mozart directed by Mario Martone and conducted by Sesto Quatrini. She debuted in August 2018 in Perugia the role of Fiordiligi in Mozart's Così fan tutte with Bruno Praticò directed by Renato Bonajuto and conducted by Uri Segal. In December 2018 she is Violetta in Verdi's La Traviata for the Matinèe of the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari, where she returns also in December in 2019 in the role of Mimì in La Bohème. The role of Linette in Prokovjev's L'Amour des Trois Oranges conducted by J. Valchua, which she was scheduled to perform at the San Carlo di Napoli in May 2020 has been postponed due to the Covid 19 health emergency. In December 2024 she will star in an opera gala at the Sofia Opera conducted by Mº Luciano De Martino. In February 2025 she will be the soprano soloist in Shoenberg's Op. 8 conducted by Mº Donato Renzetti at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa. In March she will be in Vienna for a lieder recital focusing on the music of Strauss in a musical journey that will representing his stylistic evolution, accompanied on piano by Mº Lucio Golino.
